ÇEMTAŞ, a public joint stock company established on 12.02.1970 on a 101-decare land in Bursa, Industrial Zone; with the gathering of industrialists, businessmen, small craftsmen and public entrepreneurs from Bursa, to operate as an "Arc Furnace Qualified Steel Manufacturer" in Turkey, produces steel in accordance with TS, DIN, AISI, SAE norms and according to special orders.

At the beginning, the number of founding partners was 863 and the company capital was 15 TL. With the capital increases, today the number of our partners is approximately 10,000 and our capital is 100,975,680 TL.

Quality steel in different quality groups such as structural steel, carbon steel, bolt steel, cementation steel, tempering steels cold work tool steel, boron steel, micro-alloyed steel, free cutting steel, stainless steel and spring steels can be produced within ÇEMTAŞ. While ÇEMTAS continue to serve many sectors with qualified steel production, especially the automotive supply industry, wind energy, machine manufacturing and defence industry with experience coming from our past, with our “Stabilizer Bar” investment, we directly supply stabilizer bars to the production lines of automotive main industry companies, especially DAIMLER. ÇEMTAŞ has reached its position in the world qualified steel sector with continues investments since its establishment.

Arc Furnace Installed

Agreement signed with DEMAG for qualified steel rolling mills.

Trial production of qualified steel mill and actual production started.

With the investment of rolls, rolls casting started and the rollers were processed in our own workshop

1985

Continuous Casting Machine put into operation

Reheating Furnace and metallography laboratory were commissioned. Mould casting system was abandoned and continuous casting system was adopted.

Non-Destructive Testing Unit was commissioned

TS ISO 9002 Quality System Certificate was obtained on 16.11.1994., Çemtaş shares began to be traded on the ISE, On 26.12.1994

1994

1998

Rolling mill expansion and modernization investment has been completed. It became the first company in Turkey to measure instant size during the rolling mill, use a computer-controlled straightening machine and control its round bars with ultrasound and Circoflux test

The Steel Mill Dust Collection unit became operational on 09.06.999. Cemtas became the first company in its sector to receive the QS 9000 certificate. First in Turkey to produce spring steel according to DIN 59145 and DIN 59146 standards and wishes of the automotive industry.

Metallography laboratory modernization, Çemtas was awarded with A Type Emission Certificate and Environmental Protection Certificate of Appreciation by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality in July 2000. (It was the 6th company in Bursa Region to receive Type A Emission Certificate, and the first company in the sector.)

The 2nd Ultrasonic Testing Machine and Surface Fault Test Unit were commissioned.

2002

Radioactive Detection System was established. Portable Spectrometer and Portable Ultrasonic Tester were purchased

The conversion of the Heat Treatment Furnace to natural gas was carried out. ISO TS 16949 Certificate was obtained on 25.11.2005. (It became the first company with ISO TS 16949: 2002 Quality System Certificate in the Iron and Steel industry.)

ISO TS EN 14000 Environmental Management System Certificate and OHSAS TS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certificate were obtained on 16.07.2007.

The assembly of the Stabilizer Bar Facility taken over from Uzel Automotive has been completed.

2011

New ladle furnace with 30 tons capacity was commissioned.

With the R&D Center Certificate given by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, the 1st and Turkey's 222nd R&D Center in the field of qualified steel production was established in Çemtaş.

Atmosphere Controlled Bulk Type Heat Treatment Furnace and Continuous Type Hardening Heat Treatment Line were installed. IATF 16949: 2016 Certificate was obtained.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Certificate was obtained.

The Stabilizer bar production facility of Beinbauer, located in Germany, was purchased as a whole for Daimler (Mercedes) and MAN stabilizer production. A Gong Ceremony was held in Istanbul Exchange Market on behalf of Çemtaş

Continuous Casting Machine Marking Robot and Label Reading System were installed in order to modernize the billet tracking system in the steel mill and rolling mill. In addition to our existing peeling line, a new Peeling Line was established. As part of the installation of the new stabilizer bar line, the disassembly, transportation and assembly of the second phase (Man production line) and the third phase (manual production line, sandblasting machine, machining centers) have been completed. Three-Dimensional Measuring Device, CNC Machine and Cutting-Drilling / CNC Machine were purchased for Sample Preparation. Additional Painting Booth was installed to the Electrostatic Powder Coating line. TS EN ISO 50001 Energy Management System Certificate was obtained. The Heat Treatment Process has been qualified by the Performance Review Institute (PRI) to enter the Qualified Manufacturers List (QML).

Lands were acquired in Bursa Teknosab Expansion area. The new Administrative Building was built. Herstellerbezogene Produktqualification (HPQ) certificate was obtained in order to use the stabilizer bars we produce in the wagons to be produced for Deutsche Bahn AG. Çemtaş has shared its environmental, social and economic activities with its stakeholders in a transparent manner by publishing the “2021 Sustainability Report” (GRI). A (-) score was obtained from the CDP Climate Change Module. For Solar Energy Power Plant (GES) investment on the plant roofs, a contract was signed with Asunim Yenilenen Enerji A.Ş, to be operational in the third quarter of 2023 and will have an installed power of 2040.22 kWp,
